KDDI Launches Bounce Luggage Storage Service at Flagship Stores to Meet Surging Inbound Tourism Demand
November 13, 2025
KDDI CORPORATION
TOKYO―November 4, 2025―KDDI today announced the introduction of the luggage storage service "Bounce" at its flagship stores (Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Ueno, and Minatomirai) starting November 13, 2025. This initiative directly addresses the severe shortage of coin lockers and storage options in popular tourist areas, a growing issue due to the rapid increase in inbound tourism to Japan.
Bounce is a U.S.-based service that allows users to conveniently store their luggage via a single app. With over 3 million users across 4,000 cities worldwide, it provides a seamless and secure solution for travelers. At KDDI flagship stores, customers can use Japan's first dedicated Bounce lockers, with coverage of up to 1 million yen in insurance, ensuring peace of mind when storing belongings.
By offering convenient baggage storage at its flagship stores located in high-traffic urban areas, KDDI aims to support smoother travel experiences for tourists visiting Japan. This aligns with the "Hands-Free Travel" initiative promoted by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to enhance convenience for international visitors. Through collaboration with Bounce―whose users are primarily based in Europe and North America―KDDI will contribute to meeting the rising needs of inbound tourism.
