DDI Corporation, which is the predecessor to KDDI CORPORATION, was originally established in June, 1984, as DDI Planning, Inc.
DDI Corporation merged with KDD Corporation and IDO Corporation on October 1, 2000 and changed its name to KDDI Corporation on April 1, 2001.

The company was listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in September 1993.
